Racism, explicit and implicit biases and microaggressions are rampant. The need for equity, and inter-personal respect cannot be overstated. Many of us may not be racists. Unfortunately, very few people are overtly anti-racist.
We are at a very critical point in the history of our nation. How we act now is going to have reverberating effects for centuries. Words without actions will be totally ineffective in garnering trust.
Project Respect is working to congregate a growing group of persons who are interested in facilitate equity, respectful interactions and stand together against racism and bias. We collect and post videos that amplify the voice of lived experiences of people in healthcare.
During the course of our research, we have collected numerous real-life anecdotes and stories from people in the healthcare workforce in the US (shown below). Please use the comment box on this page to share your stories and experiences. We will select unique narratives and create and post them as videos on this page.
